SAN JOSE (December 2, 2024) – The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Board of Directors welcomes our new appointed Chair, Jean-Marc Chery, President & CEO, STMicroelectronics.

Jean-Marc Chery has been President and CEO of STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM) since 2018. He chairs ST’s Managing Board and the Executive Committee. Chery began his career at French engineering group Matra, before joining Thomson Semiconductors, which later became ST. He held various management positions in product planning and manufacturing, rising to head of front-end operations in Asia-Pacific. In 2008 he was promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO), taking on additional responsibilities for Manufacturing and Quality in 2011 and the Digital Product Sector in 2012. Chery was appointed COO of ST in 2014, overseeing Technology and Manufacturing operations. He became Deputy CEO in 2017, with responsibility for Technology and Manufacturing, as well as for Sales and Marketing.
