Sophia is an Executive Director in Morgan Stanley’s Technology M&A Investment Banking Group. She has over 9 years of investment banking experience, and has advised on over $200Bn of M&A, debt and equity transactions across the technology, semiconductor and Latin American markets. Sophia began her investment banking career at Citigroup in New York and joined Morgan Stanley’s Menlo Park, California office in 2019.

Sophia has advised on numerous M&A and capital markets transactions for leading global technology companies including Apple, Analog Devices, Broadcom, Entegris, Inphi, Intel, Micron, NVIDIA, onsemi, Xilinx and others.

Sophia’s M&A advisory experience includes Broadcom’s $61Bn acquisition of VMware, Xilinx’s $51Bn sale to AMD, Broadcom’s $11Bn acquisition of Symantec Enterprise, Entegris’ $6.5Bn acquisition of CMC Materials, and multiple other transactions. Additionally, Sophia has advised on multiple large IPOs including Mobileye, as well as convertible and debt financings.

Sophia is originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and holds an MBA from the University of Michigan – Ross School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in naval engineering from Escola Politecnica da Universidade de Sao Paulo. Sophia lives in Los Altos Hills, California with her husband and daughter.

Sydney Sykes

Sydney is currently the manager on the VC Alliance team at NVIDIA, helping connect NVIDIA with the VC ecosystem and support the next generation of great startups. She has built her career in the VC and startup ecosystem, previously working as a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, one of the largest Venture Capital firms globally, after finishing her MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Sydney also co-founded and served as co-CEO of BLCK VC, a 501(c)3 nonprofit focused on empowering Black investors and increasing Black representation in Venture Capital.

Andrew Homan

Before founding Maverick Silicon in 2024, Mr. Homan led Maverick Capital’s investments across the semiconductor, hardware, and software industries.  Mr. Homan currently serves on the boards of Coherent Global, SiMa Technologies, and TensorWave.  Prior to joining Maverick in 2004, Mr. Homan was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division, Financial Institutions Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co.  Mr. Homan received his B.A. in Economics from Yale University, where he was a member of the heavyweight crew team.
