Canada–Taiwan Semiconductor Co-Innovation Forum

Canada’s semiconductor industry can be traced back to the late-1960’s. Today, Canada is a world leader in photonics. This bodes well for Canada to become a significant player in North America’s ongoing reshoring recalibrations.

Canada’s semiconductor sector boasts over 500 homegrown and multinational companies conducting research and development on, and manufacturing of, microchips. This ecosystem includes over 100 design firms, 30 applied research laboratories and 5 commercial facilities in areas such as compound semiconductors, microelectromechanical systems, and advanced packaging. There are also several research & developing/prototyping centers, including C2MI in Bromont, Quebec.

Canada’s strengths in the semiconductor sector, include advanced packaging, photonics, power semiconductor devices, data communications, materials, academic research, IC design, etc. The industry is closely integrated with that of the U.S. In fact, Canada and the U.S. are actively developing the Bromont-Albany semiconductor corridor which presents a good opportunity for the Taiwanese semiconductor industry.

With that in mind, we invite you to the “2024 Canada-Taiwan Semiconductor Co-Innovation Forum” that co-host by Trade & Investment, Canadian Trade Office in Taipei (CTOT) and Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).

Join us, together, we will explore collaboration opportunities on advanced silicon photonics, on-chip communications, next gen packaging and much more!
